Schools out? Come to Tanganyika for a unique and widely fun, hands-on educational experience that cannot be found in the classroom. Come out and meet Leonard the lemur, Paco the penguin, and many more animals excited to meet you and your family. We are a family-oriented and hands-on wildlife experience. In this blog post, we will show you the best ways to save money, whether buying a season pass is like using a Wichita zoo coupon, or utilizing the different ways of experiencing the park on a budget.
If you are unfamiliar with our park, here are some key details. We are a family-owned wildlife park. We believe in conservation as much as bringing the wild wonders of the world to you. Some of our more well-known experiences include Lemur Island, where you get to experience a ringtailed lemur sitting on your lap, grabbing your hand with its velvety little paws, and taking the snack from your palm. Also, feed the giraffes at our giraffe deck, and you might feel their tongue brush against your hand as they take the lettuce leaf. Experience all these with your family and friends by visiting our park. We guarantee a day that you and your family will remember for the rest of your lives.

Other ways to experience TWP on a budget
We understand that a season pass may not be the most cost-effective method, especially for those coming from out of town. But not to worry, we have methods for saving money without buying a pass, too.
Although we do recommend buying a pass if you plan on visiting more than three times in a season. One of the best ways to experience TWP on a budget is to purchase a ticket beforehand and during the week. Our weekday passes have a 25% Tanganyika discount. It is one of the simplest ways to save money before visiting the park. Just make sure to purchase a ticket for Monday-Thursday.
Another great way to save is by coming on our Wild Wednesdays which happen to be every Wednesday all summer long from 4pm-8pm. If you choose to visit us during that time one child will get in free with a paying adult, so bring the whole family out to enjoy our animal friends, the splash park, and the most important part is making great memories.
Our goal is to make incredible memories that will last a lifetime and encourage a love for animals across all ages. If you plan on spending a whole day at the park, we recommend bringing a picnic lunch. We supply picnic tables all around the park. You could eat a PB&J next to the honey badgers and king vulture or a ham sandwich while watching Grayson, the white tiger play in his habitat.
If you plan on being a frequent flier, we recommend purchasing one of our souvenir cups to get free refills all season long or a popcorn bucket for $2 refills all season long. Think of it like a zoo coupon for your thirsty visitors.
Don’t want to spend the day with a large crowd? We understand. The best times to visit to avoid the hustle and bustle is during the week, afternoons, and Wild Wednesdays. However, no matter what time of day or week, our staff is ready to greet you with a smile and many animal facts that will knock your socks off.
We also offer discounted activities that do not require you to purchase admission to the park, such as the Cub Club story time, which is time for you and your little future zookeeper to meet an animal, read a story, and do a fun activity. It is $5 per child and free for the parents. You get to read a book and meet one of our animal friends. With all the ways to save, come out and experience our amazing park.
