A Day in the Sloth Behind the Scenes

Chewie is the best! I got to meet him as a Mother’s Day gift from my son, best day ever! He looks like he’s having so much fun!

We had a wonderful day at Tanganyika Wildlife Park! I took my 8 year old granddaughter on Saturday and we stayed the whole day. We did a behind the scenes Sloth experience and it was very cool! We met Chewy and Molasses. We got to feed them, pet them and have our picture taken with them. Our guide was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions (and we asked a lot of questions)! It was truly a wonderful experience to see them in person and learn all about them.

We had an amazing time at Tanganyika during our recent visit. Every staff member we encountered was kind and helpful. The park is compact and easily navigated. My grandkids were thrilled with how many animals they were able to touch and feed! We scheduled a Sloth Experience during our visit and it was wonderful. We can’t wait to return! #toucheverything

    Conservation Corner: Two-toed Sloth

Deforestation and other forms of habitat destruction remain threats for the sloth. Other human-made threats include power lines and roads. Educating children and adults in the sloths’ home countries about their importance to the ecosystem—and how to treat sloths respectfully—remains a challenge for those who want to help this unique and wonderful creature.
